    1. Examination and assessment of reproductive health

General examination: cardiovascular, blood pressure, endocrine, chronic diseases (diabetes, thyroid, liver, kidney).

Gynecological & andrological examination: evaluation of uterus, ovaries, semen analysis.

Required tests: HIV, hepatitis B/C, syphilis, rubella, AMH (ovarian reserve), hormones, blood count.

Uterine-ovarian ultrasound: detect fibroids, polyps, uterine adhesions, polycystic ovaries...

If there is a disease, it needs to be treated and stabilized before starting IVF.

    2. Prepare your lifestyle & spirit

    Nutrition:

Eat lots of green vegetables, fruits, foods rich in protein and Omega-3 fatty acids (salmon, chia seeds, walnuts...).

Supplement folic acid, vitamin D, zinc, iron as prescribed by your doctor.

    Lifestyle habits:

    Get enough sleep, avoid stress.

Stop drinking, smoking, high doses of caffeine.

    Do light exercise (yoga, walking).

Prepare mentally: IVF is a long journey, which may require many cycles. Couples should be mentally and financially united, ready to face the possibility of not being successful the first time.

    3. Notes on medication and treatment

Stop or change the medication you are taking (if any): blood pressure medication, anticoagulants, hormones, antibiotics... need to consult a doctor.

Vaccination: rubella, chickenpox, hepatitis B (if not immune).

Control weight: ideal BMI (18.5–23), avoid obesity because it can affect the results.

For men: limit alcohol, high temperatures (hot baths, saunas), supplement zinc and vitamins to improve sperm.

    4. Understand the process and prepare finances

IVF steps: ovarian stimulation → egg retrieval → embryo fertilization → embryo culture → embryo transfer → pregnancy monitoring.

Cost: usually 60–120 million/time (excluding embryo freezing, special drugs, PGT/PGS if any).

Time: 2–6 weeks/cycle depending on the protocol.

Possible complications: ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), multiple pregnancies, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, etc.

Success rate: depends on age, reproductive health, protocol, IVF center.

In summary: Before performing IVF, it is necessary to prepare physical and mental health, a healthy lifestyle and full knowledge of the process. This helps increase the chance of success and reduce risks.
